Parking (Updated 7/23/08)

Parking in Morgantown is a big concern for students. On the Downtown campus, the University offers daily short-term parking for students in the Mountainlair garage or the lot by the Life Sciences Building on Grant Avenue. These lots fill EARLY in the morning. On the Evansdale campus, the University has four short-term lots.

For students, the best parking option is the WVU Coliseum, which is free of charge. Students do not need a parking permit to park there (overnight parking is not permitted) and can then catch the PRT at Engineering to travel to the downtown campus. Remember, riding the PRT is free with a valid student ID.

Another option is to take advantage of Morgantown's city transportation program, the Mountain Line Transit Authority (304-291-RIDE). Students, faculty, and staff can ride the city bus for free with a valid university ID.

In addition to the Morgantown Parking Authority public garages and lots in the downtown area, there are some privately owned lots around town. Most often, there is a waitlist for any of these lots. However, you should contact them directly to see if anything is available.

To find out more about any of the above-mentioned services, please contact the appropriate organizations listed below. Parking information is updated on a frequent basis.
